Life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

Sandra lives in an older two bedroom, two bath mobile home. Her life is not perfect. In 2021, her right leg was amputated. Her left leg is not functional due to bypass surgery which means she has very limited mobility and uses a wheelchair to get around. Thankfully, her son lives with her and helps her with things she can’t do on her own.

But one thing neither Sandra nor her son can do is home repairs. And they just kept adding up. Soft spots on the floors throughout the home. One bathroom was not functional due to a cracked tub and a badly damaged floor. Mold and mildew were unwelcome guests in the bedroom closet. Trees leaned precariously over the roof.

The family lives on a fixed income so there was no money to complete all the repairs their home needed. It was so bad, Sandra actually thought they might have to move out, even though there was no place for them to go.

Despite their lives not being perfect, Sandra and her son never lost hope and kept moving forward.

They heard about WARM and reached out for help. WARM staff and volunteers were able to perform the necessary repairs that would make Sandra and her son safe at home again. Repairs that would not have been possible without you and your commitment to WARM’s mission.
