Long-Term Disaster Recovery
WARM operates in hurricane-prone coastal counties. Often, our hurricanes come with severe flooding as well as damaging wind and rain.
WARM was founded in 1996 to rebuild homes damaged by Hurricanes Fran and Bertha. Since then, WARM has responded to several hurricanes, a deadly tornado, and other severe weather. In the past 25 years, over 1600 homes have been rebuilt in the Cape Fear area due to hurricane damage and general disrepair.
WARM MAKES PEOPLE WHOLE
WARM is now completing more advanced home rebuilds, helping homeowners understand FEMA, and providing leadership on Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRG) in each county we serve.
Each LTRG works to unite the community and streamline response efforts in the wake of a hurricane or any other disaster. The LTRG network provides a holistic approach to regional recovery.
