WARM NC receives $10,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation to support families in southeastern North Carolina

WILMINGTON, NC – WARM NC received a $10,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to help cape fear residents meet basic needs as demands for service increase.

WARM NC is one of 39 organizations in North Carolina to collectively receive $1 million in grants from the Duke Energy Foundation. The nonprofit organization provides free home repairs for qualifying low-income homeowners.

“We will use these funds from Duke Energy Foundation to reach homeowners who desperately need our services to address storm damage or deferred maintenance such as leaking roofs, rotting windows, and sagging floors,” says JC Lyle, WARM NC’s Executive Director.

“These repairs, made by trained construction staff and generous volunteers, prepare the home to withstand future natural disasters. Community outreach will increase the number of households that are more resilient when severe weather hits, making families safer and healthier at home and more secure in homeownership.”

About WARM NC

WARM NC’s mission is to repair, rebuild, and make homes accessible; and to inspire service, generosity, and hope. Urgent repairs address threats to safety, health, and accessibility. By rebuilding homes in disrepair or damaged by severe weather, WARM is preserving affordable housing for the community and supporting our homeowners’ goals to remain self-sufficient and live with dignity and independence. Repairs are provided at no cost to homeowners who qualify.
